So, taking a break from packing (long story) to do a post up, seeing as how I have now finished all 11 seasons of Cheers! I started it, what, how many years ago? Stopped, started again, stopped for ages, started again... Anyways, this summer, I picked it back up and polished off seasons 9-11 (possibly season 8 as well... I can't remember now, haha).
20 min shows are always super easy to binge, but also, this show is a great brain cleanser if I watched something too intense close to bed and it was a great background show while working on wedding stuff for my friend this summer. Also great background for packing - I pretty much did season 11 entirely in the past week during packing. XD
As in previous Cheers related entries, I just have some random thoughts and ramblings. Warning: this got long.
( give in and give out )
Back when the 50th Anniversary Special for Doctor Who was coming out, I had a freak out because I was so excited for it (as most Whovians did). Then I found out they were airing the special at a theatre near me and I REALLY freaked out with excitement. Unfortunately none of my real-life friends were Whovians, and I didn't particularly want to go alone... so I asked my sister if she would go with me. She shrugged and was like sure, so I bought us two tickets. Then I said it'd probably be a good idea if she watched some of the show before we went and saw the 50th special, so she at least knew kinda what she was getting into. She said sure.
And thus I embarked on a journey to crash course my sister through Doctor Who is like... less than a month.
This post is to tell you what we crash-coursed through, in the hope that it might help fellow Whovians convert others!! This post is definitely my opinion and by no means a hard-fast guide, because everyone is going to have their own thoughts and opinions on which episodes are most important and why. (Also contained in this post will be spoilers, so non-Whovians, you should probably NOT read on...)
Hobey ho, let's go.( i am a mad man with a box )
( all of your wallowing is unbecoming )
( this got long... )
Ok, so, let me just say that I've had some horrible real life stuff happening lately, and have been absent. I will eventually get around to posting about it, but the pre-Christmas rush of life is starting now, and, anyways. Basically I was going to ramble about Doctor Who on my tumblr and it started to get really long, so I figured it was a better idea to stick it here and just post lightly on my tumblr instead.
( the foreshadowing is killing me )
( what am i doing seriously )
( trying is the key word )

( help but i don't know how you can )
What I'm doing instead: Procrastinating, what else?
( and ranting about sam and diane so, you know, you're warned? )
( and i swear to keep it safe till in my grave )
( this looks familiar... vaguely familiar... )
( oh man wonder if he'll ever know... is there life on mars... )
( baby boom santa, thank you for mtveeeee... )
So as you may or may not know, back in May, I signed up for this fanfic "Big Bang", where you basically have to write a big story in a (relatively) short amount of time (kind of like NaNoWriMo or whatever it's called, which I have never attempted because I am the lethal combination of procrastinator and perfectionist when it comes to writing). For this one, it has to be centered on a het pairing (therefore the genre should be mostly romance), must have 25 000 words or more, and must be done by September 25th.
( why yes I AM ridiculous )I've seen many other LJers do this sort of thing, and I figured I probably should too. I have SO. MANY. Ships. So don't be too overwhelmed.
(Read: I am on a scheduled "break" from my self-imposed Bang writing regime today, and I'm making the most of it by doing... this...)
( ship shippy shipness is shiptastic )
( boy, am i good at procrastinating )
